How interesting that Chloe is no longer questioning what she is seeing. She's so into the experience and she loves a good chat. If you were to meet "the" superior being, god, or just a talking snake who knew it all, what would you ask? They say no question is stupid, however, in a situation like this there would, no doubt, be plenty of stupid questions. After testing the water, so to speak, Chloe jumped right in with a big one, only for it to remain unanswered. Why do you think people are so screwed up about God? Or is there a God?

With every passing year it seems I learn a little more about myself and my thoughts on religion. It's a strange thing to practice if you really think about it. When I was a child I knew that God liked protestants best, that catholics had silly rituals that didn't help anybody, and that God was white too, just like his son Jesus. I was consumed with worry that I had not been baptized - people that are not baptized by a certain age can go to hell if they die. An entry level college philosophy class is the first time I ever entertained the idea that God may not exist, or that you could even have such thoughts without being struck dead by lightening. Now I feel that class was a gift; a gift of freedom to think larger and beyond the control of a particular group. As a gay woman I'm fortunate to naturally fall outside the circle of traditional faith. They won't have me and so I get to see more of what is true about life in return. I'm not sure that free thought can live well in a formal group. It may bud, but it won't be fostered.
Question everything,
Laura
